In late 2010 I almost lost my life to a critical health emergency known as Septic Shock. I survived after weeks in CCU, and grateful for the medical team who saved me. I waked away with my life, but also with widespread, body-wide, permanent nerve damage. I also battled a whole host of other autoimmune issues that happened after, and one thing after another was debilitating to my recovery. I knew I had to fight to stay for my kids who were very young at the time. I became disabled seemingly overnight and had to give up on going back into my chosen career field. Eventually I was diagnosed with CIDP (a degenerative nerve disease). After a few years of constant hospital stays and recovering my health the best I could, I began to sink into depression because I wanted to somehow work and contribute more financially to my family of 5. My partner was supportive of my recovery, but I knew we were struggling financially.

One day, I picked up my crochet hook and began to make small items for purchase. Those items began to sell very well, so I launched my Etsy shop in 2015 to reach more people outside of my circle. Stitchcraft and Starlight was eventually born (under a different name) and we have continued to grow so much over the years. I taught myself how to make resin items like tumblers, and also how to sew. Working from home allowed me to raise my children and also allowed me to have flexible scheduling for when I have those inevitable bad days. My tiny business expanded by leaps and bounds over the years and now we have the large assortment of items we offer now. Our Esty shop has been open for the last 8 years, and I am so grateful to be able to do this full time.

With fees on the rise, I decided it was time to open my independent shop online so I have my own place to sell all of my ready to ship and custom made items without having to continuously raise prices to cover listing fees on other platforms.

This website is everything we have on hand/in stock right now and we will be continuously adding more items as we create them. Every single item in my shop is created with my own hands. These items are all made with love and creativity.
